Google is adding three new travel tools to AI Mode in Search: flight price tracking that watches fares and emails you when they change, points and miles pricing for flights and hotels, and in-chat hotel booking that completes the reservation through Google Pay. Together they turn the search box into a place to compare, watch, and book a trip without bouncing between tabs.
Google first put travel assistance inside AI Mode earlier in 2026, giving the chat-style search surface the ability to pull real-time flight and hotel data and craft itineraries. This update layers three new capabilities on top of that foundation.
Track flight prices without leaving the chat
Google Flights has long offered a price tracking feature that watches a route and alerts you when fares drop. That feature now lives inside AI Mode. Describe a route and dates, ask for the best options, and AI Mode pulls current prices from more than 300 partner airlines and travel sites. If you want to wait for a deal, ask it to track the prices and confirm. You then receive an email whenever the fare changes for your destination and dates.
Flight price tracking in AI Mode is available in more than 180 countries and territories. When you are ready to buy, AI Mode hands you off to the airline website or the booking platform of your choice to complete the purchase.
See the cost in points or miles
For travelers paying with rewards, AI Mode can now display the cost in points or miles rather than cash for both flights and hotels. A request like “help me find nonstop flights from Atlanta to Miami using my AA miles departing Oct 9 and returning on Oct 12” returns the mileage cost for matching flights based on partner data. The same works for hotels: tell AI Mode where you want to stay and which rewards program to use.
Points and miles rates are available globally in AI Mode. At launch, the feature supports Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines (operated together as a single rewards program), American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton, and Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines, and Lufthansa Group are slated for the coming weeks. To finish a redemption, you follow the link to the partner site.
Book a hotel without leaving AI Mode
The third piece closes the loop on hotel research. Tell AI Mode about a trip and your hotel preferences, and it returns a visual list of options with guest reviews and the factors you would normally compare by hand. Once you find a hotel you like, ask AI Mode to help you complete the booking.
Booking happens through the new “Continue on Google” option that sits beside the integrated partners in the booking list. From there, you pick a room type, review the cancellation policy, and check out with Google Pay. The merchant of record for the transaction is the hotel or booking platform itself, and that merchant also handles any customer service after the fact.
Hotel booking in AI Mode has started rolling out in the US in English and will reach more users over the coming weeks. The launch partner list covers Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels and Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.
What the three updates add up to
Each of the three additions targets a different stage of trip planning. Price tracking watches for the right moment to buy. Points and miles pricing surfaces the cost in your rewards currency, which most travel sites still bury. In-chat hotel booking collapses the gap between “I found the place” and “I have a confirmation number.” The combined effect is a planning flow you can run almost entirely inside a single search conversation, with hand-offs to partners only at the moments that require a real transaction.
The new tools live in AI Mode in Google Search, which sits alongside the existing AI Overviews and the traditional blue-link results. For users who already plan with AI Overviews and chat-style search, the update adds a layer of execution on top of the comparison work those surfaces were already doing.
